Magical
sipping coffee on the front porch (I rotate, start on back porch then move to the front porch just because I can hehe)
peaceful
no phone
no camera
just me and my coffee enjoying pure peace
Hawk flew in, sat on the overhead shared utility line directly in front of me, just watching me, I thought such a beautiful friend, a bit of grooming took place with a keen eye on the lookout for movement, likely breakfast
I was just thinking about dad and mom, their life, their difficulties and my place in their often chaotic movements through life, I smiled, knowing they loved me the best way they knew, then Hawk flew in, the messenger, an affirmation of my thoughts
smiling and sipping coffee, a glint of yellow caught my eye
dancing in the red flowers in front of me
my elusive friend, yellow butterfly
a high flyer seldom landing, and I do mean seldom as in rarely close enough for a photo, or still enough, until today
I thought for half a sec, yup, camera time
I had my macro lens on the camera body, thinking to self this will be interesting to see, firstly if she is still here, secondly if she lands close enough for a photo op, thirdly if I could be still enough to get a shot
camera in hand, perused the landscape, she was gone
so a second decision was made, since I had the camera in my hands, let’s take a walk
oh sweet bumble bee was everywhere enjoying purple flowers, so here we go, so much fun because they move really fast and my fingers move really slow making for a delightful challenge
then, right where I stood, literally bumble bee left of me and directly in front of me, yellow butterfly landed, flabbergasted I focused and took two pics before she flew and excited to say, they were beautiful photos
truly mind blowing to me, this moment I knew, this was mom stopping by, just as dad had done with Hawk stopping to visit, both saying, we heard you, we love you
never doubt if your words are heard, never, there will be a time, a place, a moment when your breath will hold before letting go, realizing you were heard
this is life
some learn this early, some later, it makes no difference when
we know when we know
we learn, we realize, a single point in time
we witness this truth
truly grasping we are far far from alone
ever
smile …
