I made a choice long ago

to smile

to live in a world I believe

is love

knowing I don’t know others

their story

their pain

their joy

only knowing what I know about me

I am love

complicated confusing chaotic love

it is the layering of our pain that hides

this love

from view

masked by shadows placed upon our beings

being told

what to believe

when our truth

separate to each being

connecting our beings together
